Actually, preparing and cooking them is pretty simple but mine seem to be preferred by family and friends every year. Here's how I make them:
- Do NOT wash them, the moisture from the pumpkin guts helps them brown and gives them flavor.
- Apply a light coating of olive oil on a baking sheet and spread seeds uniformly. Make sure they are spread in only a single layer.
- Sprinkle with salt and pop into a preheated oven to 350.
- After 5-7 minutes, move the seeds around with a spatula and apply more salt.
- Repeat once more after another 5-7 minutes.
- Total cook time is 15-20 minutes depending on how crispy you like them.
Let them cool before eating or you'll get burned.
