Fish Oil for memory
I take several pills each morning, fish oil being one of them. I'm not certain that each pill I take does anything for me and if I would notice had I stopped taking them. So periodically, I will cease taking something to see if it has any effect. Recently, I omitted fish oil from my morning pills.
I did notice an effect after I stopped using fish oil for awhile, and that was that I had difficulty focusing my attention on complex things and my memory wasn't quite as sharp.

The benefits of stretching
If you're at all like me, stretching is a must before undertaking just about ANY physical activity. However, for me, it has become much more than just a way to prevent injury. Yes, I still stretch before I swing a golf club, lace up the hockey skates or just about anything else but I've also made it a point to stratech nearly first thing every morning either before I step into the shower or while I'm in the shower with hot water warming my tight muscles. I have a limited number of quick moves I make that pretty much cover the basics and take about a minute or two to complete but help me to feel better all day long.
To me, its kind of like flossing, start making a habit of it and you'll miss it sorely should you forget. Anwyay, stretching in the morning gets my blood flowing, gets my muscles warmed, loosened and ready for an active day. Occasionally I stretch again during the day if needed, especially if I'm stuck in my office for the day and I can actually feel that I have better circulation from doing so.
Give it a try tomorrow morning and see if it makes you feel just a little better all day long. I can almost guarantee that if you give it two weeks, you'll be addicted and continue on with this great habit.

Lower your blood pressure, naturally
Here is a true story. A few years ago, I was diagnosed with high blood pressure and prescribed Lisinopril. I was 37 years old. After taking Lisinopril for about six months, my blood pressure was in a normal range at 125/75. Now keep in mind that during this time I lost a little weight began exercising more often and eating better so it is not possible to isolate the meds as the sole source for my improved health. The only side effect I experienced was occasional dizziness which my wife who is a R.N. suggested was a result of being over-medicated.
Some time after six months of taking Lisinopril, I had a friend over who is involved in the insurance business and knows a little about common drugs. When he heard I was taking Lisinopril, he told me I needed to get off that drug immediately. “There are no studies showing the effect that drug has on your liver after taking if for 20 or 30 years and once you’re on bp meds, you stay on them until you die,” he said. He also told me he would check with his friend who owns a GNC store to see if there is a natural alternative.
A couple of days later I received an email instructing me to purchase L-arginine and Cayenne and take both for one month, then continue with just the L-arginine as a replacement for the Lisinopril. I did as instructed, taking 1,000 mg of L-arginine daily and my blood pressure stayed exactly the same at 125/75.
I was also told by my friend that a side-effect of Lisinopril is ED, or problems getting an erection. I hadn’t experienced any problems during my short time while taking it but who knows what would have happened five or ten years down the road. Another surprising benefit of taking L-arginine instead of Lisinopril is that L-arginine is a primary ingredient in many of the male enhancement products. So one bp solution could potentially ruin my liver and make my wiener limp while the other might make it larger.
So here are some ways to lower you blood pressure:
- Lose weight
- Exercise
- Eat healthy
- Take L-arginine
- Stop using tobacco
- Lower your caffeine intake
- Men have two drinks of alcohol daily, women one drink
- Reduce your stress

Holiday Diet Time - Thinking about trying hCG?
Tis the season to step up the workouts and make extra effort to eat healthier. About a week ago, I started using Ultimate hCG from Hampshire Labs. hCG or human chorionic gonadotrophin, if you're not familiar with it, is a hormone that is produced during pregnancy. Don't worry guys, its not likely that you'll be growing breasts when using hCG. The pituitary analog of hCG, known as LH or luteinizing hormone is produced in the pituitary gland of males AND females.
A study by British endocrinologist Albert Simeons suggests that hCG aids your body in burning fat rather than lean muscle tissue. Other studies suggest it works to re-distribute stubborn fat deposits (like bellies in men and hips/thighs in women) as well as help suppress hunger.
So far, I have lost four pounds and that is over the Thanksgiving week with only minimal exercise! It definitely is helping me to feel less hungry througout the day. I'll write another post in a month or so to give an update on my progress.
